Duane and Patty have two grown children and three grandchildren.
Nancy Ives - Vice President
In October, 2001, Nancy was selected from several applicants to fill the un-expired term of Ralph Owens on NCSD Board of Directors. She considers herself "almost a local" since she was born and raised in Carson City, Nevada, and lived most of her adult life in Reno. She purchased her Northstar home in 1980 and has lived here full time with her husband, Jerry, since 1993.
Part of a family land development company in Nevada for more than 25 years, Nancy is familiar with water and sewer systems, road maintenance, growth problems and the necessities of working with local agencies.
She holds a BS in Business and a Masters Degree in Journalism, and taught classes at Truckee
Meadows Community College as well as the University of Nevada, Reno. Nancy also worked many years as a reporter at the Reno Gazette-Journal newspaper and continues to write as a freelancer for several local and national publications.
Having been a business owner and having spent so many years in journalism, Nancy feels she's able to see all sides of various issues. She's been active in many community organizations and served on several boards of directors.
Both Ives are avid outdoors people who love to hike, bike, ski and kayak in the
Northstar/Truckee/Tahoe area. They have five grown children, and decided to settle in Northstar because "it offers the best of everything."
Nancy appreciates our top-rated fire department, our trails and our road and water systems. She also understands the complexities of balancing quality of life with progress.
Jeann Green - Director
Jeann was appointed to the Northstar Community Services District's board of directors in December of 2005. She serves as the Board's financial representative. She and her husband, Norm, owned a condo in Indian Hills for many years. She served on the Northstar Development advisory committee representing the Indian Hills condominium association. In 2003, the Greens built a home in Northstar.
Jeann has a bachelor’s degree in sociology and anthropology. She has experience working in the restaurant supply business and helped develop an office coffee service. She was controller for a real estate firm and lobbied for the restaurant industry before California's State Legislature. She has been active in many volunteer organizations.
"The NCSD staff, including the fire department, is impressive. They keep our neighborhoods running safely and smoothly. Our staff works with the East West Partners, Boothcreek, and NPOA, as well as local government and community organizations to insure that Northstar remains one of the best resorts in the country."
Her main areas of interest are encouraging healthy forests in and around Northstar and securing better postal service with an improved mail delivery area and larger mail boxes. She loves Northstar's trails and wants to see them integrated into the Tahoe Regional Trails system. She is proud of the way the NCSD maintains trails in the Martis Valley.
Jeann has two children and three step children. She and Norm have ten grandchildren who love to visit Northstar.
Mike Moll - Director
Mike Moll was appointed to the Northstar Community Services District's Board as a director in 2005 and Reelected to the Board in 2006
Mike and his wife Cathy have been coming to Northstar for 25 years and moved here full time in 2000. They run Moll Construction, a general contracting company specializing in large custom homes and have built several homes in the Big Springs Subdivision at Northstar.
Prior to moving to and building in Northstar, Mike was a third generation contractor from Sonoma Valley. He served for many years as a construction industry representative on the Citizens Advisory Committee for the Sonoma County Environmental Health Department and the Sonoma County Permit and Resources Department. In his line of work over the last 36 years, Mike has worked with public works and utility departments from many communities and has become familiar with those operations. Mike has also served as a volunteer fireman for 6 years and served as president of the City of Sonoma Volunteer Fireman Association for 3 of those years.
Mike and Cathy have three grown children and four grandchildren.
Frank Seelig - Director
Started life in Palo Alto. Took regular annual family vacations ever since then to "The Lake" until finally giving in and moving to Northstar for good in 1996. In the interim we lived in Sunnyvale, Sacramento, San Mateo, Hillsborough and Menlo Park. My wife, Fran, and I first took our family skiing at Northstar in 1975. Since then we have rented, owned, and have been employees and landlords. Currently, we live in our home on Basque and own a condo in the new Village. We ski, hike, golf, bike, and play here full time.
I have had a varied professional life: Starting as a musician in a rock band, continuing on as a broadcast DJ, then on to banking prior to owning/operating a retail computer store in Fremont and finally owning/operating some print shops in the Bay Area.
I have served on several charitable and corporate boards, the NPOA board and have been on the NCSD board since June 2005. We have 2 married children and 2 grandchildren (who are cuter than yours).
Fran and I have an undying obsession with Northstar and do everything in our power to continue making it a better community for everyone.
