2024 PICKUP DATES: JUNE 3, JUNE 17, JULY 1, JULY 15, JULY 29
CHANGES TO THE PROGRAM STARTING JUNE 3, 2024:
Beginning June 3, 2024 there will be no cap on the amount of raw pine needles each property owner can leave curbside per pickup, so long as the needles are raked from a single parcel. Needles can be left in either a neat pile curbside or in 55-gallon trash bags. We will also transition torequiring 55-gallon trash bags exclusively be used for downed woody material ONLY. This means that all permissible downed woody debris including tree limbs/branches, pine cones, tree bark, and brush will need to be inside 55-gallon trash bags and left curbside in order to be picked up.
Single-Family Residential Curbside Pickup Rules
Material Type and Quantity Allowed:
PINE NEEDLES: Quantity Restrictions - None. NOTE: Property owners can leave pine needles curbside in a neat pile OR in 55-gallon trash bags.
DOWNED WOODY DEBRIS: Quantity Restrictions - Maximum of five (5) 55-gallon trash bags allowed per pickup. Material may consist of tree limbs/branches, brush, and bark. NOTE: Downed woody material MUST be left curbside in 55-gallon trash bags. Any downed woody material not in bags will not be picked up.
In order to be picked up on the scheduled pickup date, material must be placed curbside before 7:00 a.m. Please note, curbside pickup dates can take the contractor anywhere from 1-5 days to complete. Give a grace period of one-week before contacting the Fire Department regarding missed piles. Any material placed curbside after 7:00 a.m. on the day of the seasons fifth and final pickup will be the responsibility of the property owner to dispose of. Green waste material should be kept separate from regular garbage services. To avoid Tahoe Truckee Sierra Disposal (TTSD) from mistaking curbside material as normal trash, keep items apart from each other on the curbside. Northstar's Green Waste Curbside Pickup Program is only for property owners, condo associations, and CAMCO.

Dumpsters are meant to provide Northstar residents with additional disposal options when the type or quantity of material does not meet the Curbside parameters. Refunds must meet specific conditions and will be available until all program funds have been exhausted.
