Welcome to the Northstar Fire Department’s website. As a longtime resident of the Tahoe Truckee area, it is an honor and a privilege to serve as this community’s Fire Chief.

Northstar Fire Department is an “all risk” department. Meaning: We will respond to all emergencies that might impact our community. Thus, we have well-trained personnel willing to respond with the expertise to tackle such emergencies involving advanced lifesaving/prehospital care, structural/wildland firefighting, vehicle extrication, confined space rescue, hazardous materials response, urban search and rescue, high angle rescue, and swift water and ice rescue. Additionally, we have a robust and progressive fire prevention and forestry division diligently working to reduce the fire hazards that threaten our community.

It is my pleasure to lead a fire department comprised of personnel who try to do their very best in all that they do. Our Department’s personnel truly believe in the mindset “No task too great or too small” – allowing us to provide both the professionalism and care that our community is worthy of. We are a customer-oriented agency, with quality service as a priority. I am extremely humbled and honored to work with so many dedicated and hardworking individuals. One of my main priorities as the Fire Chief is to provide procedural direction and resources so that our personnel can be responsive to our community’s needs both efficiently and effectively.

We are very appreciative of your continued support and do not take it for granted. As you have placed your trust in us, it is our desire to not only meet but to exceed your expectations. We will continue to work tirelessly towards that end.
